Pirate Pumpkin Stencils For Halloween
Fun For Halloween Kids Of All Ages! Pirate Pumkin Stencils & Patterns
Historically, pirates have been known to commit criminal acts of violence; looting, robbery, kidnapping for ransom and murder against people (young and old, male and female) or property on ships or boats sailing the high seas or rivers by boarding them forcefully. The earliest known documented cases of piracy date as far back as the thirteenth century BC.
Pirates have always been dreaded for their wild ruthlessness on the one hand while they have been revered and envied for their free spirited adventures, for their fearless heroism and for the wealth which they had amassed through their acts of piracy, on the other hand. Most of all, however, pirates have made huge historical impressions on local, national and international economies; on cultures and lifestyles in the areas in which they operated; on maritime travel; on literature and the performing and visual arts as well as on ethics and morality of the times. Bands of pirates have sprouted around the globe, wherever and whenever there were sea or river vessels to be found and pillaged.
Modern day legends portray pirates as clever and rebellious clans of fierce fighters who were adorned with colorful scarves and sashes, brandished shiny foils and became splendidly wealthy while encountering one thrilling adventure after another. In reality however, most pirates lived the lives of common thieves who were clad in rags and then ended up dying young, maimed and poor. Legend and reality intermingle, though, when portraying pirates with scars across their faces and torsos, black eye-patches that conceal lost eyes, wooden pegs and iron hooks that replace severed limbs.
It is all too obvious why images of pirates became one of the most popular icons during the Halloween season for carving on pumpkins, for holiday decorations and for costumes. After all, pirates on Jack O’ Lanterns will spook away any roaming evil spirit and little trick-or-treaters dressed as pirates will scare everyone in the neighborhood. Boohoo!
Now, I know that you are thinking that you would rather carve something more unique and less popular into your pumpkin this Halloween. And I do not blame you for one moment. But let me assure you that although you will see many pirates carved into many pumpkins around your neighborhood you can still make your pumpkin carving unique by combining any pirate pumpkin stencil with other stencils such as parrots for setting atop your pirate’s head, swords flying in the air, ravens displaying sharp talons, treasure chests full of jewels, kegs of beer and much more. I have compiled a short list of websites where you will find pirate pumpkin stencils. All that you need to do is find some of the other stencils that I have mentioned above, apply them to your pumpkin, follow the carving instructions that you will find in each one of these websites and you will have created a pirate Jack O’ Lantern that will be envied by all:
